X-Ray
Cobham Day Surgery offers a plain film X-Ray service to which patients can be referred to directly by their GP.  Patients requiring more complex scans will generally be referred on to their general hospital.

Bone Density Scans (DEXA)
Our clinics are listed in the national NHS booking menu so anyone anywhere in the country being referred for the services we offer can ask to go to our units. All patients have this choice under the NHS Constitution.

Ultrasound
Cobham Day Surgery provides Ultrasound services for all parts of the body. Patients will be triaged to the ultrasonographer that specialises in that part of the body . We also support the local MSK service with US guided injections. These are not currently available direct to GPs. Chaperones are available.

Trans-Vaginal Ultrasound
Cobham Day Surgery hosts weekly clinics.  The scans are performed by experienced female ultrasonographers. Chaperones are available.

Admission Criteria


We are not able to accept referrals for minors (17 and under) If we are unable to treat a patient because of co morbidities, we will arrange transfers to the hospital of the patient’s choice as we do for inpatient procedures. In the normal course, patients will return to our clinics post operatively and we will remain responsible for the management of their care. The document below provides guidance on the sort of comorbidities which might preclude patients from undergoing different types of procedures at our units. Red indicates automatic exclusion. Orange indicates that the patient’s condition must be assessed by the nurse. Green indicates that the condition is not an exclusion. Our nurses run regular preassessment clinics to verify suitability for surgery at our sites. These are supported by online medical questionnaires we ask patients to complete as soon as listed to ensure that there is no unnecessary delay in organising surgery should any exclusion criteria apply.
