Our aims and objectives

Our mission has always been to set higher expectations for patients and commissioners by delivering high quality routine elective care safely, efficiently and compassionately in independently managed units. Surgical units like ours operate to the same quality standards as other providers, are regulated by the same healthcare bodies and have the same goals. Patients have the right to choose where they receive care and improved outcomes are often achieved simply by delivering care in a setting that better suits the patient which is why collaboration between providers in local healthcare systems offers such benefits to patients. If patients can be given choice and personalised care for the same cost or less, then arguably this is the best way to provide healthcare.

Integration

We carry out day case theatre procedures together with a range of outpatient services and diagnostics. Our consultants have links to local hospital trusts and patients can access the full range of diagnostics, therapies and support services provided by other hospitals where this is needed. We work closely with local GPs, consultants and the wider NHS in Surrey to ensure continuity of care and smooth transfers where care is delivered by more than one provider.

Outcomes

We believe that good care starts with good clinical practice, and we actively monitor clinical outcomes to ensure we achieve our aims. We measure a broad range of performance statistics to ensure that patients are not kept waiting, that medical records are complete and available, that all test results are accessible, that referring GPs are informed immediately of the outcome of attendances, and that cancellations are kept to a minimum. The results are evident in the feedback from patients where we have consistently recorded scores of over 90 out of maximum possible score of 100.

Professionalism

We know that our staff are key to our services at Epsomedical. Without their dedication and loyalty, creativity and positive attitude we would not be able to provide consistently high quality, safe and compassionate care. Working in independent units requires flexibility and a wide range of individual competences. We receive many compliments and congratulations from patients, and the great majority pay tribute to the kindness, dedication and professionalism of our staff.

Value for Money

The NHS should expect healthcare providers be efficient and not wasteful with taxpayers’ money. Our prices are systematically cheaper than those of other local NHS hospitals and we are careful to set patient expectations where treatment may not be routinely funded by the NHS. Our care pathways are efficiently designed and managed for the benefit of patients.
