Can Anyone Use The Units?

Yes - Our clinics are listed in the national e-Referral Service so anyone anywhere in the country being referred for the services we offer can ask to go to our units. All patients have this choice under the NHS Constitution

What Sort Of Hospital Are You?

Epsomedical is an independent healthcare provider contracted by the NHS to perform commissioned specialities under the same rules as an NHS Trust.

We have no overnight beds, so any surgery that may require overnight accommodation will have to be carried out at another local hospital, which may be NHS or private. Patients who are to be anaesthetised for a procedure will be assessed beforehand to ensure they are fit for the procedure on our site.

For more information of what an independent provider is you can watch a short video here or visit the IHPN website

Can I Chose Which Site I Use?

Yes.  Where possible, we duplicate our specialties at Cobham and Epsom to give greater access.  There are some instances where we can't offer certain clinics due to capacity or clnician availability but this will be made known to you when booking outpatient services.

Outpatients at Epsom are split between the Old Cottage Hospital, Alexandra Road and the Epsom Square on the High Street; all surgery at Epsom is carried out at the old Cottage Hospital.  The waiting times for each unit are shown by service on this website.

Which Consultants Do you Use?

The majority of our consultants are attached to one of the local NHS Trusts, and we collaborate with those Trusts to make sure that patients have ready access to all the diagnostics and procedures they might require. Our independent clinicians are also able to refer to the Trusts ensuring continuity of care.  A full list of our consultants are available on the website.

Do You See Private Patients?

Yes - All the services we offer to NHS patients are also available for those electing to pay or who have private medical insurance.
